Getting to Know You

SUPPLIES NEEDED
Blank pieces of paper (one per person)
A package of postcard-sized blank notecards (four per person)
Pens, pencils, markers
Bible
Copy of Raising Disciples
GATHER
WELCOME
Welcome everyone to the first week of the study.
Ask each person to introduce themselves by sharing their name and their earliest
positive childhood memory (such as a place, person, object).
OPENING ACTIVITY
Invite them to participate in an activity to identify the children currently within their
sphere of influence.
Hand out a piece of paper and a pen/pencil/marker to each participant.
Instruct participants to draw a circle in the middle and write their name inside it.
Have them draw additional circles around the center circle to represent their current
relationship with children, such as:
Immediate family
Extended family
Children of close friends
Children in the neighborhood
Children in the church community
Volunteer opportunities
