WEEK 1
Getting to Know You
List all of the ways the commandments were to be impressed upon children (versus 79).
Discuss whether verse 7 was a command only to parents of children or to the entire

Discuss how the words of verses 7-9 could be adapted to the activities and

or “Post verses on your bedroom mirror”).
Read Deuteronomy 6:1-2 and identify the importance of the teaching of the laws of the
Lord to children.

Read the Preface of Raising Disciples together.

raising a child to be a disciple.’” (p. xi)
DISCUSS
Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?
Of the parents you are familiar with, what percentage do you think believe that they are
the primary influence in their child’s discipleship?
Say, “The author states ‘But God has not left parents to do this work alone. He has created
